From Kongens Nytorv, Nyhavn runs down to the harbour, lined with gabled houses where Hans Christian Andersen lived. North of it lies Frederiksstaden, the 18th-century quarter of Amalienborg, the Marble Church and Bredgade, with Designmuseum Danmark.
