About Louisiana and Humlebæk: the back story

The Louisiana Museum of Modern Art stands by the Øresund at Humlebæk, north of Copenhagen, with its collection, changing exhibitions, a sculpture park running down to the sea, a children’s wing, Louisiana Literature and concerts (louisiana.dk). Trains run up the coast from Copenhagen to Humlebæk.

Getting there

By DSB’s regional train up the coast from Copenhagen Central Station or Nørreport to Humlebæk; check dsb.dk.

The museum

Louisiana is open late on some days (11:00–22:00 on the day we checked); see louisiana.dk for hours and exhibitions. Restaurant Sletten, in the 2026 MICHELIN Guide, is in Humlebæk.

DSB’s coast-line trains run from Copenhagen to Humlebæk; the museum is a short walk from the station.

Our advice: combine Louisiana with Kronborg, a few stops further north.
